【Industry News】2024 11th International Underground Space Development Conference
Urban underground space is an important growth pole for the future development of cities, and its development trend is significantly related to China’s urbanization process. 2024 is a key year for the in-depth implementation of the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and a decisive year for the implementation of the “14th Five-Year Plan”. In line with the new trend of urban development, we will accelerate the transformation of urban development methods and vigorously develop future industries such as “urban underground space development and utilization”, which will become a strategic choice to lead scientific and technological progress, drive industrial upgrading, and cultivate new quality productivity.
The “International Underground Space Development Conference (IFUS)” is a series of activities of “World Cities Day”. After 10 years of development, it has played an important role in continuously promoting the development of my country’s underground space industry and scientific and technological innovation. Its purpose is to create a large-scale and influential cutting-edge information and technology exchange platform for the global urban underground space development field.
In order to further improve the level of underground space development and utilization and innovation capabilities, strengthen academic exchanges, and promote the deep integration of industry, academia, and research, the organizing committee plans to hold the “11th International Underground Space Development Conference (IFUS2024)” in Shanghai from October 15 to 17, 2024, as a series of activities for the 70th anniversary of Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design Institute.
This conference will focus on cutting-edge theoretical research, key leading technologies, and disruptive innovative technologies in the planning, construction, operation, maintenance, and management of urban underground space, promote the extensive exchange and application of new concepts, new technologies, new equipment, and new materials in the industry, empower the full-cycle development and utilization of underground space with new quality productivity, promote the underground space to move towards intelligence, greening, and integration, and explore the green development path and model of urban construction in the new era and new situation, and make new contributions to the construction of modern urban agglomerations in my country, the implementation of the dual-carbon strategy, and the creation of a better living space for mankind.
On this occasion, the organizing committee sincerely invites industry experts and scholars and representatives of enterprises and institutions to take the time to attend and participate in the grand event!
